ToggleWith every new story, there are new ones that are interesting.
The Street Fighter series has come a long way, and as new characters join the mix, the familiar stories are finally getting more depth. Considering how popular the video game is and has been since the first one came out, you might want to know what character arcs are worth caring about after you’ve spent so long following their path to becoming a fighter.
This time around, the stories have a lot more depth and polish, with things like unrequited love and confusing plots that involve most of the key characters in a web of conspiracy.
Jamie
Jamie Siu calls himself a “peacekeeper” in Chinatown. He has a difficult past with friends he’d like to see again and is trying to work through it. Even though he tries to stop others from making trouble, he can be rude and violent.
Jamie is also very proud of his ability to fight, which he got by working hard. But he’s not looking for any way to prove himself. At the end of his story arc, he has a good rivalry with Luke over who is the stronger of the two.

Marisa
Marisa is a strong Pankatriast who has a reputation to uphold. She has been fighting her whole life, but she has never found a fight she liked. She didn’t feel like she was doing what she was meant to do until Manon came along.
Even though she is strong, by the end of her arc, you’ll see how complex her ideas are about fighting and winning. Even though her story is pretty easy, her character isn’t. Getting one better than Manon is a sign of growth.
Dhalsim
His story starts with a brief description of the main character and what he does for a living, which is to help people find the right road for them to walk. As someone who does Yoga, he thinks it’s his job to help other people and, finally, himself.
His story arc is mostly about him trying to figure out what his place is in the world. He meets Lily soon after he realizes how much promise she has. After a fight and some small talk, he goes back to meditating, where he probably runs into Singing Wolf at some point.
Dee Jay
As his name suggests, Dee Jay’s easy goal with his songs and rhythm is to make people happy. He is a young artist who is eager to spread his wings. He is passionate about influencing his audience and is dedicated to making war beats through street fighting.
He is a silly character who is always working on his art. Eventually, he meets people who make him feel alive again and give him ideas. At the end of his arc, he feels refreshed and ready to keep making great beats.
Ryu
In a few seconds, Ryu, the main character, uses a memory to explain most of the character’s past. He talks about how, on his quest for true power, he had to fight some pretty strong people, including himself.
He learns that even though he is strong, there are still people who are stronger and can teach him the things he needs to keep getting better as a fighter. Luke’s love for him at the end of the story was also pretty funny.
Lily
Lily is a person who loves to travel and believes in spirits. She is on a path to live up to the legacy of the person she looks up to. Her story is about how much she loves to go on adventures. It has a simple, honest tone, and the only interesting thing in it is that Dhalsim recognizes her potential.
She has some power inside her that she wants to bring out, and her arc ends with a promise to get stronger and show Dhalsim how much she’s grown as a fighter.
Kimberly
This math genius who no one expected has both brains and muscles has a lot of secrets. But she knows who she is and where her ancestors came from. This is something she’s proud of.
Kimberly Jackson, the Ninja Star, has a secret to solve, and her uncle was hurt by JP’s bad plans. Her story is all about solving that secret and getting revenge on the bad people who made her life hard. She saw how much more she still needs to learn and grow.
Zangief
At the start of this story, the mighty Russian wants to join up with someone to keep himself busy now that he has finished his goal of killing Shadaloo for good. He finally meets Marisa, who is happy to see him. He wants to join a tag team so he can show off how good he is at fighting.
Even though the two fight and end up liking each other, it turns out, in a funny way, that this wasn’t a tag match at all. Zangief doesn’t want to be a part of one of Street Fighter’s most famous power partners, which is a shame. Who knows, maybe they’ll play together in Basket Random.
Chun-Li
After getting away from the Shadaloo gang, Chun-Li, who used to work for Interpol, is now a simple martial arts teacher who is finally getting a break. She is seen loving her training and putting her attention on improving her skills when she has some free time.
Even though Chun and Juri have been rivals for a long time, she ends up facing her and beating her even though she just quit. Before Juri leaves, Chun understands how important it is for her to keep the peace and stop crime, even though she is tired.
E. Honda
As a proud Sumo fighter, Honda’s goal has always been to get his type of fighting recognized as a sport under the Olympic banner. This time, he’s gone from having his own bathhouse to being the head chef of a full-service restaurant.
His trip through the story makes him love Sumo and life all over again. He shows Manon how important sports are and makes a friend who gives him good advice by having a friendly fight with her.
Manon
Manon is a French woman with wide eyes who has been fighting to stay alive her whole life. She is a strong fighter with a sad past. People have called her strong her whole life, which led to her mother leaving her because she thought she would be fine.
She is pretty sure of herself and fights pretty seriously. She finds the right person, like Marisa, to fight with in the end. She learns that fighting can also be fun, which helps her get over the bad feelings she had about being called strong. She might have just needed a real friend.
Luke
Luke’s story is about a fighter who wants to change how he sees himself, and it always comes down to how he dislikes his younger self for being so innocent. At the end of his trip, though, he realizes how eager he is to prove himself.
His fights teach him to appreciate who he was as a child instead of putting himself down, which shows how much he’s changed as a person. He still has big eyes and a lot of spirit.
Cammy
Cammy finally gets a break, and her arc begins with an innocent phone call with Juni. Later, she gets right to the point and says that she’s still not sure about the claimed peace she’s seen since Shadaloo’s end.
She is still worried that there might be something bad going on behind the scenes. Her goal to get rid of all of Shadloo’s bad forces brings her up against JP. Cammy’s trip ends with some disappointment because she wasn’t able to question him, but also with hope that she will be able to protect her world in the future.
JP
This character’s story starts with a description of a developing country and a supposed martial arts tournament that is meant to keep it going. It then explains why this tournament is being held in the first place.
JP is smart and sneaky, but he didn’t have the foresight to know that some of the best fighters on the world would challenge him. Even though he knows what his role is and how illogical his plan is, he gives Bison’s usual strategy a fair shot and learns that he, too, is meant to rule the world.
Blanka
Blanka’s story is about a funny, strange, and well-liked joke figure among kids all over the world. He gives himself a new name, “Blanka-Chan,” and calls himself a mystery jungle sprite. This gets some of the other street fighters, like Lily, interested in him.
Blanka starts his adventure dressed as a mascot, but when he meets Lily, he feels bad and chooses to tell the truth. Blanka learns that he doesn’t have to hide away and feel bad about himself to make other people happy, since he can do that without the mask too.
Juri
Her story starts with a statement that Juri has a grudge against someone, but her plans fell through when Bison died. Juri wanders around randomly, trying to get rid of the last pieces of Shadaloo because she hates them so much and hasn’t been able to get what she wants.
She goes on a journey to get back at an enemy who hurt her, and after Chun-Li tells her off, she starts to realize how broken and scarred she is because of what Bison did to her.
Ken
Who would have thought that the man who started the “Master’s Foundation” would end up in jail after being caught for allegedly being behind a bombing? Even though he is the national champion, he has been tricked into a very dangerous position. We also see that Kimberly’s uncle plays a part in getting Ken to join the bad plan.
By the end of it all, Ken has changed into someone else. Clearly, the weight of his position had a big effect on him as a fighter and how he saw things. His story ends on a pretty sad note, and it looks like he’s stuck with no way to move forward.
Guile
You see Guile doing what he always does, which is practicing his fighting skills and sparring with other fighters to stay active and in shape. He’s still just as serious as ever as a character, and he talks to Luke about something he did.
He is also looking into what happened to Ken and why he was caught in a strange way. His storyline ends with a friendly fight with his sister’s husband and some reassuring words about Ken’s innocence. He chooses to take care of things on his own in Nayshall.
